Have you noticed that some people are masters of word play? They take every day, common speech, add a few more complicated words, and spin lies. Without going into politics, it is amazing to listen to professionals who have been trained in word play. Spin doctors are really good at this. They take a situation and twist it around or push it out in a different direction. All the while they are using language to deceive you or achieve some goal, such as sell you a product or change your beliefs. I like the Indian reference to this by saying that those men “speak with forked tongue.”

Today I wanted to spend a few hours at the lake, so I packed a small picnic lunch and a couple of cold drinks, found a beach towel in the back of the closet, and grabbed some sunscreen from the medicine cabinet. Then I drove the 6 or 7 miles to the closest sand beach along the big lake near my house. I was concerned that the lake would be crowded because of the heat and the holiday weekend, but when I pulled up to the park entrance, the gate was shut and a park ranger was turning people away.

I pulled up to the ranger and asked what was going on and he wouldn’t say anything other than the police had been called and shut down the park access for at least an hour. He told me I could try back in about an hour or go to one of the other park beaches.

Later I found out that someone had drowned there at the lake. That was so sad – I can’t imagine the horror of having someone you love die in the water when they were supposed to be having fun. I hope it was an accident and not anything malicious. I thought they might have a news story about the death on the news tonight, but nothing was mentioned.

I went to a different beach – there is another one just 2 miles away. I enjoyed my time in the sun and the water, but now that I know it was the end of someone else’s life nearby, it makes me sad for them and their family.

With the commercial “Shards of Glass” being aired as of late, it’s a real attention getter, this commercial is” I can only hope that more people pay attention to the hazards of smoking. I’m so grateful that I never picked up that nasty habit, it wasn’t easy, most of my friends started back in Junior High School and the rest started in High School and they tempted me for years to join them. I just didn’t see or have the need. Peer pressure is hard, but some times you just have to trust your instinct.

There are tons of memorials and special events planned all over the country for today. Myself I’m just staying at home, reading a good book that I found on the subject. I found it at a book give-a-way a few months ago and decided to read it as today’s date got closer. It’s a good book with some really awesome photos. It will make a good coffee table book when I’m done reading it. I always try to have a good selection of books easily available for folks to flip through. I have lent many a books out that people have found in my living room, most of them find their way back to me, although not all of them.

I joined the millions of people that returned back to work today from the 3 day Labor Day holiday weekend. We really need more 3 day weekends, a couple of times a year just doesn’t cut it. At least the weather cooperated and we got to do a lot of out door stuff over the weekend. The weather will be changing on us in no time and the yard has been neglected so much this summer due to extreme heat that we have been dealing with for many months this year. In no time we will be freezing out buns off and dealing with freezing temperatures, wind, sleet and snow, not looking forward to any of that.

At least we do get a few days of in the winter months, so that is something to look forward to.

I’ve been looking around for a few months now at the various cell providers offers and their cell phones. At the end of this month my contract with Sprint will finally be over and done with, once and for all. I’m not one of their biggest fans and I’ve been waiting a good long while for this obligation to be fulfilled so that I can move on with a better deal and a new phone.

It’s pretty cool to find websites that offer their facts and figures and assist you with comparing the varieties of these necessary pieces of technology that just about anyone has to deal with these days. I don’t need anything real fancy but I do want good reception, good customer service and it has to fit into my budget as well. I still have a few weeks to make a decision. I’ll keep you posted.

They are mostly bought as gag gifts but some people do make love to them, female drivers sometimes use them as fake passengers so it looks like someone is riding in the car with them.

And then some mental head cases use them as if they were an actual women in a relationship with them. So my question to you is could you ever see you self really owning a love doll one day?

To be honest I do not own a blu-ray disc player and probably never will because everything looks just as good on DVD as it does on blu-ray discs because my television is not a high definition set so upgrading has made no sense.

I have no spare time to play games so buying a Play Station 3 makes no sense so I may just wait till the next format before upgrading all the stuff from my television to computer because as is everything works and looks fine. Plus the adult dvds that used to be like sixty dollars per dvd are now like five dollars per dvd so holding off saves me a ton of money over the next year or two till the next generation format comes out!

Well in case you missed my last post that answer to this question is simple, Yes, I give a shit but my question to you is do you give a shit? I love this planet and all the people in it regardless of color religion or anything else. As much as society tries to make us all individuals we are still apart of this great thing called life. When asked how you feel about the World and helping it and the people in it how do you respond?

If called upon to help your fellow man would you? Or would you turn your back on them and let them suffer or worse yet die? Think about helping your fellow man tomorrow surely there is something you can give away that is just sitting in your closet to someone who needs it more than you.
