After Christmas Clearance Bargains

Heading out to the stores this morning. I want to pick up some Christmas clearance items, like wrapping paper and gift tags. If they have any cute Christmas tree decorations, I might get a few of those. Its nice to pay 20 cents on the dollar for things that are definitely going to be put to use. I just have to front the money now and be willing to store the items for 11 months. So, hope the crowds are too bad and I can score some good deals.

Dept Store Makeup Counter

This time when I went to the mall I decided to take a look at the makeup counters in the big Department stores. Most of the time I avoid that whole area, as all these overly made up women are always looking for someone to pounce on and give them a free makeover. I don’t want a makeover but I do want some new lipstick. I’m not sure there is enough difference in the quality of the lipstick at the mall to make it worth $30 when I can buy good stuff at the drug store for only $12. So I took a look and the women were so busy gossiping among themselves that they never even came over to help me. So fuck ‘em. I left.

Burgers and Fries

Who decided that hamburgers should be served with french fires? Why did french fries become the standard side? Why not potato salad? Or potato chips? Or a piece of fruit? I have to stop eating french fries because they are fattening and have a lot of cholesterol. Do you have any idea how hard it is to order food at a drive through and not get french fries with your order?

Pencils

People who work a crossword puzzle and write in the squares with pencil are cheating. I don’t trust anyone who uses a pencil. I bet I don’t even have a single pencil in my house. What would I possibly need one for? I have an assortment of pens and have no use for pencils at all.

I keep seeing all these ads for free cell phones. there must be a catch. How can some people be getting free phones but other people have to pay, like $300, for their phones? And I have to pay $50 a month but other people get it for free? What’s up with that?

Old Photos

Some of the old photographs I have kept in a box in my basement ended up getting wet when I had that leak from the fireplace. I had no idea the water was running down the wall and going down into the basement. When I was looking for holiday boxes I found the puddles and freaked. I am so upset that the photos are ruined. I don’t know if they can be saved at all or not. I’m going to take them to Wolf Camera and ask them to help me.

Sucking It Up

I hate the waste and expense of paper towels. But now there is Skoy, a biodegradable cloth that dries quickly, and if you wet and nuke it regularly (it will be hot, so be careful), it won’t turn into a party place for countertop bacteria. One cloth is supposed to outlast 15 rolls rolls of paper towels and at $6 for a four-pack, it’s certainly cheaper. Clean Sheets

Back when I was a kid, laundry day was a big deal. We had to round up all the dirty clothes from our bedrooms, gather up all the towels and wash clothes from the bathroom, and take all the sheets and pillowcases off the beds. Then we spent pretty much the entire day washing all those clothes.

We had an automatic washing machine that worked great. But although we had a clothes dryer, my dad didn’t like for us to use it unless we had a rainy spell and had to. We had to take all the clean, wet clothes outside to the back yard and hang them up on the clothesline to dry.

Then, the next day we had to iron everything. I hated ironing and I still hate ironing. But clean sheets that smell like the fresh air and ironed smooth are the most wonderful thing to slide across at the end of the day.

Got a new mix of feeds

Heard through the grapevine that this site called RSS Mix allows anyone to merge 4 different feeds into one so I went ahead and created my own rss page and html page via this very cool site. Instead of having to surf around the web from site to site I can now get all the content I want to read or watch on one page which to me is a great time saver and is like I said before very cool.

Would highly recomend anyone out who reads multiple feeds to give this website a try and see if it is not the best thing since smoked sausage!

Starting tagging myself and friends

Realizing the only way this blog is going to be any fun to me is if people start coming and leaving comments and reading what i am writing I am embarking on a marketing spree for my blog. I am interested to see just how well it turns out and I may posts traffic stats soon after a couple of months of adding my blog to various places like tagging sites here is my delicious profile.
