Clearing Your Cache

Years ago when I was working with computers, people used to tell me that once in a while I need to clear my computer cache and run a defrag program on my hard drive. There was an easy way to do that, but I actually forgot how to do it. I think I had been told later that it was no longer necessary because Windows had built in those processes. But I might be wrong about that. But I quit doing it and now I have no idea how to do it.

I had to call tech support last night about my web site and he told me the changes we made over the phone were not showing up because my browser must be using an old cached version of the site. So I told him I had not heard that term in a long time and he laughed. He told me how to clear the cache in my browser Tools tab. It was really hard to find it, but eventually I did find it and clicked on all the right buttons to make it happen.

But I wonder if I’m supposed to be doing this on a regular basis? And what about that defrag program? Am I supposed to be doing that, too? I wish I knew an IT guy who would explain all of this to me.

I spend a lot of time on Facebook. It is so totally addicting. Just when I think I can sign off and go do something else productive, a friend starts a new chat or posts something on my wall. I’m on Facebook and I can’t get up!

My friend Chloe keeps a blog named Where is Chloe where she travels around the World talking to different people and covering various topics and sometime she cover local issues as well but than sometimes she just talks about some random stuff like when she wrote about Working out for Mr Right which is a really well written post.

I just hope her Mr Right i working out for her as well because is seems silly that one person in the relationship would be putting in so much work!

Starting tagging myself and friends

Realizing the only way this blog is going to be any fun to me is if people start coming and leaving comments and reading what i am writing I am embarking on a marketing spree for my blog. I am interested to see just how well it turns out and I may posts traffic stats soon after a couple of months of adding my blog to various places like tagging sites here is my delicious profile.

And I wanted to then export that into everything that would allow for it and here is one of those site called multiply which is pretty darn cool if you ask me and you can see my multiply profile here. There are other sites that are good for tagging posts like reddit or propeller you can check out my reddit profile here

I claimed my blog in Google today along with Technorati and set my blog up the way I wanted to like the preferred domain Google sees which is without the www. on my blog and I got to set the crawl rate for which Google bot will come visit my blog.

Another interesting feature was to claim my blog via adding meta data to my front page which i did then it said i could also add a site map if i wanted to but i have yet to do because I lack th eplug in but i am hunting as i write this post so it will not be long before I figure all of it out.

Anyways you can do a lot more after you claim your blog and if you have not then go do so I created a free gamil account and used that to login into the webmaster console and added there.
