Charlie Sheen

Charlie Sheen is in the news so often that I’m amazed that his hit television series, Two and a Half Men, is still on the air. It really is a great show, one that I try and catch when I can. The writers deserve a pat on the back and a nice bonus check each  for keeping the characters fresh and exciting year after year and I hope that it continues to be on the air for a very long time. But if Charlie Sheen doesn’t keep his nose clean, it could spell disaster for the whole cast and crew at some point.

Sucking It Up

I hate the waste and expense of paper towels. But now there is Skoy, a biodegradable cloth that dries quickly, and if you wet and nuke it regularly (it will be hot, so be careful), it won’t turn into a party place for countertop bacteria. One cloth is supposed to outlast 15 rolls rolls of paper towels and at $6 for a four-pack, it’s certainly cheaper. To find more information about this new product you can go to skoycloth.com and see for yourself how this is a wonderful idea and will certainly be gaining popularity in numerous households in the near future.

Pumpkins

I always buy a few pumpkins to put on the front porch this time of year. My neighborhood always go all out with holidays and the decorating that goes along with each holiday. But this year the pumpkins have gotten way more costly and the quality just doesn’t justify the cost increase, so I’m boycotting pumpkins this year, but it certainly hasn’t stopped any of my neighbors.

Too Many Choices

We have had a rash of grocery stores coming and opening up in our town. We used to only have Food Lion, Martins and Walmart, but now we have a Giant, Safeway, Bloom,  Harris Teeter and another one that I can’t ever  remember the name of, but it is only 4 letters and starts with a D. Of course there is always Costco but I don’t like buying in bulk and don’t like dishing out over $200 each trip.

I don’t like having to bounce all around comparison shopping for the best deal. I’ll just stick with Food Lion for the most part. I like the store and the employees all know me by now and are very nice, helpful and friendly each and every time I go there.

Where Did The Past Summer Go?

September 17, 2010 // Posted in Life, People (Tags: , , , ) |  Comments Off

It was such a hot summer that I thought I would be all too glad to see fall but for some dumb reason, I’m just not ready for fall. I think I know what it is!! Last winter was awful and one of the worst on record that I think I’m afraid it will be like that again. I probably wouldn’t worry about it if it also hadn’t been one of the hottest summers on record. That just goes to show that we can’t seem to be happy not matter what the weather. I just hope the leaves are pretty this year at least!!!!

Everyone is walking around singing that Lady Antebellum song about being drunk and needing you tonight. I must admit, it does have a catchy tune and is a good one to dance to but has anyone really listened to the words or are they just mindlessly singing along. That has to be one of the most depressing and desperate sounding songs I have heard in a very long time. But like they did on ‘American Bandstand’, I guess I would have to give it about a 85 since it is a catchy tune.

I just found an old friend that I have known since elementary school and haven’t seen for many a  year.  Facebook is now one of my favorite new friends because it’s really helping me find my old friends. I hate that term ‘old friends’. You know, just because we’re getting older doesn’t necessarily mean we’re old but I guess we are getting there. After all, some of the ‘old’ friends I have contacted have grown kids. Grandmothers and Grandfathers are supposed to be old. That’s the next step once your kid reaches 18………UGGHH!!!!
